Sapphire is one of the most durable naturally occurring minerals – on the 10-point Mohs scale, it ranks just below diamond. The glass uses its synthetic form, a combination of corundum and aluminium oxide.
In practice, this high hardness makes sapphire glass protectors much more resistant to mechanical damage – such as scratches from everyday objects like knives or keys.
Another advantage of sapphire is its high transparency. Once installed, it ensures excellent image reproduction and fast touch response, while the oleophobic coating prevents unsightly fingerprints.
Full-surface adhesion ensures that the glass adheres perfectly from the top edge to the bottom and also prevents dust particles from getting under the display. The glass's low thickness (0,3mm) does not make the phone look bulkier and allows it to pair well with a protective case.
Sapphire glass is safe to use. Rounded glass edges protect against injury during installation. Moreover, unlike conventional glass protectors, if Sapphire glass breaks, it does not form sharp shards, which could easily cut your fingers, but cracks along the surface in a spiderweb pattern.
